The Omega Witch Character Introductions: Alignak
Hey All,
I’m back with Alignak. Within my research, he is the Inuit God of the Moon, weather, water, earthquakes, eclipses, motion and tides. Up until his addition, I did not have any intention of bringing in any ethnicity among goddess Selene’s creations, the werewolves. However, the story does take place on earth as an alternate universe, therefore I felt the need to tether it down by a civilization. It seemed to be the most legitimate within the spread of Selene’s new species and their locations throughout the story, of which are undisclosed.
That being said, just as I found in my research, he’s a playful being. In The Omega Witch, I’ve depicted him as thoughtful and deep which is why his choices on how he used Maximus’ Alpha Aaron as he did, says a lot about his character. While Selene sees him differently, working within such close quarters with him and the other gods and goddesses of the Lunar Realm, Alignak is more. The relationship he builds with our main character, Vivian, is second to none. He and Ta’lab, another lunar god that I chose to tether this realm to, work together to restore what had been lost in goddess Selene’s anger.
There is additional lore that I’ve hinted at in the story that while Vivian Zera is handling her own journey, Alignak reconnects with Aaron, Maximus’ Alpha, while they’re split in the Lunar plain to attempt to heal the wound. It is a feat, but it isn’t explored, given that the narrative is in first person through Vivian’s perspective.
If you, or someone you know, followed Alignak, I’d love to know what your thoughts of my portrayal of him are.
With that being said, Ta’lab is up next.
Until next time, happy reading
