The Omega Witch Character Introductions: Goddess Selene

Hey All,

I'm back to introduce Goddess Selene who is the goddess of the moon.

However, she’s not the only one in control of the Lunar Realm. Gods and Goddesses that work within this realm are deities of other species. While many of their believers are primarily human, they aren’t the only creatures that rely on the gods and goddesses power. Selene knows this the best as she is the reason werewolves were created in the first place.

In previous posts I’ve explained her reasons for creating the species and what she was trying to accomplish in doing so. Humans were great and all but they were lacking on how well they could behave with their spouse. Building a connection past bodies and biology seemed harder for them and because of it, she decided her own species could teach them a thing or two.

Selene gathered men and women from all reaches of the world and brought them to the Lunar Realm. She watched as they reacted to their change of scenery. Some were afraid while others were curious. She watched as they looked to find each other out only to let their egos destroy them. It was clear they needed help… and so she approached them. Not in her human form, but that of her wolf’s.

Selene regarded them carefully and found that overtime their fear of her presence as this beast resolved. She was of no threat to them unless they decided she should be. She put them in their place with her careful stare and judgmental sweep of her tail.

The longer she watched them, she learned about their complexity. Their need to be more, or less in some cases, was startling… but all in all, each of them wanted to be complete. The humans circled around their egos within their own methods, but none took shape past the familiar coils of life’s unfulfilled perils.

Selene thought about the way they responded to presence and the time it took for them to find resolve. She thought about their need for a partner and separated it from the equation, making a third point. It was a necessity, clearly, but the other two seemed to take precedence.

It was decided. She’d separate each being into their own like anchors. They’d have what they knew, the human. They’d learn their spirit by way of their wolf. And they’d find their designation thereafter. Listening to all three would help them enhance their completeness and then, when they could find balance, their designations would allow for such a primal connection to their fated mate.

She nodded at her work and released them back into the wild to see what would become of them. Selene was proud at first. They did what she wanted them to, furthering her hypothetical motherhood along. Centuries past. At the end of the third one, packs became pieces. They didn’t let the way they once did and that was terrifying.

What if they forgot their mates?

What if they forgot her?

Selene found herself following them more substantially, desperate for it to turn around without the rest of the Lunar Realm finding out. The last thing she needed was Alignak or Ta’lab reminding her as to why they don’t get involved. Humans were confusing as it was, dealing with them made it far too hard to want to get involved more than their duties allowed. Selene knew this and still released a new species into the world. She’d never live it down.

As her werewolves continued on their path of destruction, Selene came across Jordan and reacted with a fury the world had never seen. Werewolves went into hiding thereafter. They learned how to stay human or stay wolf, not both. Their designations still drove them mad in the shape of her wrath screaming through each and everyone of them thereafter but Selene let it go. Her gifts could only be seen as that if their species worked together to pull it back together. But as she watched, her werewolves broke down further… until her worry gave birth to one of her very own.

Lilith. She was the start of their modern day revolution, the message that they had to fight to find their balance. That they could break free from their strife…

Another child came forth from this with her blessing with a promise to finish what Lilith started, and with that, I can’t say more.
