The Omega Witch Character Introductions: Kassandra
Updated: Mar 2, 2022
Hey All,
This is a sensitive topic. While I was writing this story’s lore, I made sure to bring up that werewolf’s skin color and fur color had nothing to do with ethnicity. In fact, this story does not see ethnicity. It sees werewolves as a whole as if we were talking about the wolf species itself. They are all Goddess Selene’s creation, and because of her need for balance within them and their trinity’s fulfillment alike, separating them by ethnicity did not apply. Furthermore, this was explained in earlier posts about their need to find each other outside of the packs that the individuals were in to begin with. Selene’s expectation was that they would always be drawn to each other, regardless of their markings.
With that being said, our real world may have an issue with the way these scenes were depicted now that Kassandra’s complexion is brought to light in this image. However, unlike our real world, Goddess Selene and the other gods of the Lunar Realm handle each of the individuals and their reincarnation until they reach their expected fate. Kassandra’s fate in this book is not fulfilled. While she does not become reborn in this story, it doesn’t mean we won’t see her in another one… (shh…)
Honestly though, Kassandra is a hard one to talk about considering her role. Her name means: she who fills men with love, but in this case her love is meant for the pups she brings into the world.
She lives in the time period where the Alpha King Alexander Asmodeus has ravaged the land and Selene’s werewolf kind. It’s where he has everyone living in fear of his anger; where it’s better to serve than to stand their ground against him. He’s every bit of a terrifying Alpha during his first time ruling. He enslaves every Omega for being that designation and Kassandra is one of the many.
Presenting posed an issue and all werewolves were scared. Kassandra knew this and still she submitted to the Alpha King for far longer than she had the courage to. He took every single one of them, expecting to let his Alpha find his true mate through the use of their bodies. Like the rest, he’d claimed them with his own mark, keeping her from finding her true mate. After each heat cycle, she, like the other Omegas, bore pups. While her liters were small, they were strong. It was fulfilling that bringing life into the world made her feel important in a loveless mateship, and that was enough.
…until she learned what was happening to the pups.
Kassandra knew she’d pay the ultimate price for her actions, but saving their lives was far more important to her than saving her own. Her mental strength says a lot for her, given the fact that her stress had killed off her wolf, and that’s why she only has one name.
She plays a pivotal part of the Alpha King’s life, as well as one of her son’s, Maximus Aaron as well.
I wanted to be sure that I gave her character layers that showed the Omega of that time period to be allowed to make her own decisions as well. Besides Jordan’s experience, the Omegas that Kassandra knows and has been debased alongside of, aren’t given rights. They are considered slaves to their biology and to an Alpha’s command. Having Kassandra try to fight back and die for it builds up her son to become the Alpha he is intended to be.
… Did I let something slip? Kind of, but I couldn’t have explained her relevance without it.
Next up, Dane.
Until next time, happy reading!
