The Omega Witch Character Introductions: Maximus Takuya

Hey All,

I have to thank you for checking out The Omega Witch’s character lineup so far. I have to say, it was a very exciting process to bring more of their story to light here whereas I can’t really elsewhere.

Without further ado, Maximus Takuya.

I think we can all agree that Maximus has been through a lot more than any other character in the story and so having Selene give him the opportunity of completeness back to him is outstanding. I’m sure some of you must be confused as to why we don’t get Maximus Aaron back, and perhaps are wondering if Zera’s love for Takuya had anything to do with my decisions on this.

Truthfully, yes.

…But, to explain this, I found it imperative to make this moment more than getting to go back to normal. If any of you have experienced a huge life change as I have, you’d know that there really isn’t a return to normalcy. While Vivian did all in her power to change Sylvia and Alexander’s life, she ultimately loses her reality. She knows that Selene had a plan and accepted it in the beginning, but within the time that she realizes she’s losing Damian and gaining Maximus, Maximus learns more about her in a way that he wouldn’t have if they paired up the way that Selene expected them to. It gives him a very different outlook on life and his decisions.

Where once, in his terrifying life as a youngster, having to witness what happened to his mother as an Omega, he now sees so much more than he could have ever imagined with his Omega. She rose to an unthinkable challenge because her mother and goddess needed her. She put all of them first and suffered the most, watching Damian, her anchor, disappear.

Maximus knows, however, that she wasn’t alone out there. Part of him, Aaron, followed her down to help protect Sylvia. He knows that Aaron won’t be returning to him which leaves a gaping hole within him. It’s unsettling to think he’ll return to being a Beta after all of this, that his choice to give up Aaron originally was the worst he could have made, but another quickly roots itself inside of him.

He can only imagine that Alignak has his back, returning the good to him that he provided, unknowingly to Alexander all that time ago, but he can’t make heads or tails of it. His heart aches for Vivian as she begs Damian to mark her before he completely disappears. The fact that she’d rather be his widow than move on from this life, as young as she is, shocks and settles him in a way that he can’t possibly find words for.

All the while, Takuya remains as his wolf, holding the link between the both of them as the new entity takes root. Before he can know for sure, she’s pulled away from him, thrown back into her own time period.

Her call seems non-existent despite what Takuya knows. Panic rises and so does his Alpha, Damian. It’s a welcome familiarity but he doesn’t linger. Instead he seeks guidance from all in the Lunar Realm to get to her immediately. His journey is met with panic when she isn’t where they left off, but when he does find her, she’s laying in a shallow riverbed, growling at him; expectant that he leaves her because she’s taken.

It’s undeniably warming to know that she’s just as she was, fiercely in love with shards of himself. When they finally connect, they guide each other into their adventures ever after.

Maximus Takuya’s adventures with his fated mate will make it into another book that will ultimately complete this saga and become solid lore for books to come (of which are currently being planned because I have no chill).

With that, I'll be doing one more post about The Omega Witch, which will be the first ever Author's Cut. That post will really dive into how I came up with the characters and allowed inspiration to hit.

Until then, happy reading!
