Hey All!
Writing can be tricky without the right methods that work for not only yourself, but also your scenes, characters, and the interactions you're building... or at least, it is for me. Over the years I've found that my stories can be quite complex and as I've grown, I've noticed my approach has changed. Where I used to be drawn to music with lyrics, I am now the opposite. It's fine to listen to the words when I'm not focusing on certain elements, but rather, trying to capture a mood or attitude of a character. However, instrumental music has been a game changer for me now.
I would like to share the pieces from musicians that I've come across in this journey that have been so inspirational in this segment.
Tony Anderson has been a go to for moments that I really have to slow down and listen. In fact, I'm listening to his work now, while I write this post. His tempo is like a breath of fresh air and has certainly steadied the pace of this message. I urge you to take a moment and listen to his work. His name holds the link to a playlist he has on YouTube for your convenience.
As I continue this deeper look into my creative process in posts to come, I'll be revisiting novels I've already written and adding the soundtracks I've enjoyed while writing them.
I certainly hope everyone has a moment to treasure these as I have.
Happy Listening!
